FINISHING THE RACE - A TO DO LIST WHILE WE LIVE

All of us are on the race of Life, we may be running for survival, for love one, for our dreams or for God.  This article would help us to achieve those things just like finishing the race of our life. There are things to be considered so that we may able to finish the race before our life runs out us.

First is that we must be aware that there are plenty of distractions. As a runner of life, the letter of Paul to the Hebrews 12:1 would tell us that “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” 


This means that awareness comes great endurance or rather patience to the obstacles and people that might criticize our work or what we are presently doing. Every race is God’s design in order to fulfill your completeness here on earth.  The greatest distraction that you may encounter is your past. 

Past would really affect us because past experiences patterned us on what we are now. But an individual who has the passion to finish his/her race must keep in mind that your future really depends on your decision today.

Obstacles are inevitable part of the race.  To save ourselves from surrendering the race, one must remember the reason and reward why he is running. The question WHY would tell us HOW LONG we will run. The WHY will be our fuel to keep going and stronger on our race. There are times that we feel that the run is worthless for we are not achieving anything but keep in mind that good actions and purposeful would result to great results.

Now it takes longer and you feel that you are going anywhere, you may now ask yourself “what is wrong, I keep doing that and this and it seems that I’m not achieving anything?” or you may be complaining to God why he is not answering your prayers and you say to him “Aren't you the God Almighty"? You don’t even grant my simple prayers?”. 

A lot of questions and complains are clouding in your mind and mouth. Don’t worry, it is normal. You are just a human and the only thing you need is to renew. 

Renew yourself not your dreams, God, love one or even your life. Innovate yourself. Read, learn and apply what you have learn. Effort would be a waste if there a lot of lesson you are not getting. 

If the scenes tell you that it is impossible, don’t lose hope. God was there in the past and help you to get you onto the present. God would be there for you and will never leave you for you are his son. Just ask him, then you’ll receive likewise if you knock the gate of heavens thus you will be opened. 

All you need to do is to discipline yourself, learn from the good sources and have a witness or mentor that will tell you if you are on course or not. The good thing on the modern times is that for every field there’s a lot genius of their own craft.

The last thing to remember to let you finish the race and even be satisfied to the result of the race is that there is God that you can cling on. Just look on to the letter of Paul to the Ephesians 1:6 – “And I (Paul) sure of this, that who he began of a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” God rejoices for every finished work and surely he would be behind of you, watching you and helping you stand and even run with you to finish your race that will certainly help him to advance his kingdom on earth.

It would be better now to decide on a goal then ready your backpack for the run of life. You may fall down many times but if falling down counts it is also the same to the times when you stand up. Bear in mind that in the end, if you’ll not give up, you will finish the race. For in the race of life, there is no ranking for it does not matter. The important point to learn is that, finishing our race is not an option, it is a right and also an honour.
